Leading Like Christ (Without Tripping) – A Poem

I thought leadership was about looking grand,
Standing tall, giving big demands.
But Jesus flipped the script, oh no!
He said, “Get low and wash some toes!” 

I tried to lead, to make things right,
Then tripped and fell—what a sight!
Turns out leading is serving too,
Not barking orders—who knew?

So now I walk where Jesus led,
With love, humility, and faith instead.
I may still stumble, I may still fall,
But grace will catch me—that’s not all!

So if you’re leading, here’s your clue,
Follow Jesus—that’s step one for you!
