🏡 Life on the Porch: Where Fellowship Grows 🌿
The rocking chairs creak in the cool evening air,
Stories unfold in the porch light’s soft glare.
In Texas, we sat where the old oak trees swayed,
Watching the cars as their headlights displayed.
The front porch stretched wide, welcoming all,
Neighbors would gather, just after nightfall.
Iced tea in hand, we’d talk and we’d dream,
Of faith, of family—life’s intricate seams.
But seasons they change, and so do our views,
The porch moved northward to Pennsylvania’s hues.
The woods stood still, the creek softly sighed,
The fire pit warmed us while time passed us by.
The kids still played, though their feet found new ground,
The dogs chased the echoes of joy all around.
The faces familiar, the love just the same,
Though loss left a shadow, we whispered her name.
Life on the porch—where memories stay,
Where sorrow meets comfort, and hope finds its way.
We share life together, through laughter and pain,
On porches of past, and the ones that remain.
