The Weight of Approval 🌟
I walked the path with burdens high,
Seeking approval, reaching for the sky.
Each smile, each nod, a fleeting gain,
Yet in their absence, only pain.
The crowd applauded, their voices loud,
But in the silence, no joy found.
I wore their praise like a heavy chain,
Yet in my soul, the ache remained.
What if I’m not enough today?
What if their love should slip away?
The questions echoed, a haunting song,
A tug-of-war, where I don’t belong.
But then, a whisper—soft, yet clear,
A voice of truth that drew me near:
“You are mine; you don’t need more,
In My arms, you’re loved, secure.”
The tension broke, the chains fell free,
As peace replaced my misery.
No longer striving for fleeting applause,
I found my worth in a higher cause.
Now I walk with a lighter load,
Pleasing God upon this road.
For in His grace, I find my rest,
Living for Him is life at its best. 🙌
