My Grown-Up Christian Christmas List
As the Christmas season wraps around our hearts, I can’t help but dream—not of toys or treasures, but of a world transformed by the love of Christ. Before I get to my Grown-up Christian Christmas List, let’s take a journey through the series that led us here:
- Part 1: The True Story of Christmas: Separating Tradition from Scripture
- Part 2: The True Story of Christmas: Myths About Mary and Joseph
- Part 3: The True Story of Christmas: How Christians Around the World Celebrate
If I could make a Grown-up Christian Christmas list for the entire world, it would look like this:
A World Without Hostility
At the top of my list is peace—peace in every corner of the world. Imagine no wars, no hostilities, no dividing walls of hatred. Instead, people looking past differences and finding the beauty in what we share.
Let us see each other as God sees us, not defined by the color of our skin but by the content of our character. Let us fulfill Dr. King’s dream and the commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves.
A World Without Need
I wish every belly could be full, every thirst quenched with clean water, every head sheltered by a safe roof. That no child, no mother, no father would be left hungry or homeless.
Education for All
My heart aches for the children who dream of learning but are denied. On my list, every boy and girl has access to education. They learn to read, to write, to unlock the world of possibilities that God has for them.
A Heart for Helping Others
What if we all looked beyond ourselves? My Christmas wish is that we pause long enough to see the needs of others. That our hearts would soften to generosity and our hands reach out to serve.
Gratitude for Creation
God’s world is magnificent, yet how often do we rush past it? I wish for a collective slowing down—a chance to marvel at the sunrises, the oceans, the mountains. To hear the whisper of the Creator in the wind and see His artistry in every flower.
No Innocent Lives Lost
May we live in a world where no innocent life—child or adult—is senselessly lost. A world where every soul is cherished, as precious to us as they are to God.
A World Where Faith Thrives
Oh, how I long for Christians to live out the greatest commandment: to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Through that love, I wish the world would see Jesus. That they would know the Savior who went to the cross for their sins.
If only the world would:
- Admit they need a Savior.
- Believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the grave.
- Confess that He is Lord of their life.
For all who do, eternal life awaits—a gift far greater than any Christmas morning surprise.
This is My Grown-up Christian Christmas List
This is my grown-up Christian Christmas list. It’s more than wishes; it’s my prayer for the world.
May the light of Christ shine in every heart this season and beyond.
Merry Christmas and remember, Jesus is the reason for the Season!
