The Character of God: Understanding His Attributes
As we continue our journey through understanding who God is, we now shift our focus from The Nature of God to The Character of God. While God’s nature defines His essence—His eternal, unchanging being—His character reveals how He relates to us and how we experience Him in our daily lives. What to Expect in This Series
This series, The Character of God, will explore five key attributes that shape our understanding of how God interacts with His creation. These attributes not only reveal His divine nature but also invite us to deepen our faith and trust in Him.

1. The Love of God
God’s love is the foundation of His relationship with us. Unlike human love, which can be conditional and fleeting, God’s love is unfailing, sacrificial, and eternal. We will explore how His love is demonstrated through Scripture, culminating in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross (John 3:16) and how it transforms our lives.
2. The Justice of God
God is perfectly just, meaning that He always does what is right, fair, and impartial. His justice ensures that evil will not go unpunished and that righteousness will prevail. We will examine how God’s justice is seen throughout Scripture, from the judgments in the Old Testament to the promise of final justice in Revelation.
3. The Sovereignty of God
God’s sovereignty means that He reigns over all creation with absolute authority. No event in history or our personal lives happens outside of His control. We will discuss how God’s sovereignty brings comfort and assurance in uncertain times and why trusting in His plan leads to peace (Romans 8:28).

4. The Grace and Mercy of God
Grace is receiving what we do not deserve, and mercy is being spared from the judgment we do deserve. These two attributes work together in God’s plan of salvation, showing His compassion for sinful humanity. This post will explore how grace and mercy are central to the gospel and our daily walk with Christ.
5. The Faithfulness of God
God is always true to His promises. He is unchanging and dependable, even when we are faithless (2 Timothy 2:13). This final post in the series will highlight how God’s faithfulness has been evident throughout history and how we can rely on His promises in our own lives.
